Rail freight transport
The DB Cargo freight network in Europe is DB’s backbone when it comes to environmentally friendly transport. This is because rail freight is the most environmentally friendly mode of transport in Europe.
DB Schenker uses a combination of many different measures to help reduce the environmental impact of road freight transport: From transport organization and vehicle technology to the point of employee trainings.
DB Schenkers intention is that in 2020 air freight transport will produce 25 percent less specific CO2 emissions than in 2006.
Just as in the air freight sector, DB Schenker also have close partnerships with preferred carriers in the shipping industry.
Terminals and warehouses - in the medium and long term DB Schenker also wants to further reduce CO2 emissions in stationary units such as logistics centers and terminals.
At DB Schenker, environmental protection starts with ist own environmental targets, to actively support its customers in achieving environmental targets.
